Bay Leaf Ground

The Bay Tree is native to the Eastern Mediterranean, but has long been cultivated in Northern Europe and the Americas. Its leaf is one the most sought after culinary spices for flavoring savory dishes. Ground Bay Leaf will impart the same great flavor without having to hunt for and remove the whole leaf when done cooking. Add ground Bay Leaf carefully, as its flavor is stronger than the whole leaf, using about 1/8 tsp. in place of 1 whole leaf. Especially wonderful for seasoning fresh tomatoes, a bloody mary, soup, stew or in sauces.
